JINA ZHAO

Jina Zhao is a writer, director, cinematographer, and editor based in Brooklyn, NY.She has created several narrative shorts, documentaries, music videos, and even staged a play adapted from a feature-length script she hopes to turn into a film someday.Jina is currently working on a documentary about a cult, a narrative film about a road trip breakup gone awry, and supporting herself by making zany commercials through her production company, Pocket Dimension Studios. She draws inspiration from Greta Gerwig, Chloé Zhao, Wong Kar-wai, and Luca Guadagnino, and considers Haruki Murakami her favorite author. When she’s not writing or making films, you’ll find her tango dancing, flâneuring at cafes, or scheming with her friends.
